Subject to recurring attacks common to 'interface' areas in Northern Ireland, the fragile concrete roofs of houses in Short Strand in east Belfast have been replaced with Metrotile 900 tiles. Chosen for their strength and resistance to damage, they are made from 0.9mm-thick profiled steel, coated with aluminium and zinc, plus acrylic polymer embedded with stone granules for a traditional roof-tile look.
