[FIRST LOOK + PLANS + DATA] ContemPLAY pavilion at McGill University’s campus in Montreal has opened to the public
Submitted for this year’s Small Proejcts Award, the steel and timber structure, a ‘demonstration of advanced construction techniques, digital processes and theoretical approaches to architecture’, is the final year project of students at McGill School of Architecture on the Directed Research Studio M.Arch.
The publicly accessible pavilion is constructed from 140 planar plywood ribs connected to a steel space frame, which is clad with 302 plywood strips that are arranged in a moiré pattern.
