McAslan on the expansion trail as new jobs take off

  • Comment

John McAslan and Partners is set to expand with up to 20 new staff and a new office.

The practice, based in London's Notting Hill, is experiencing a work boom following a string of new appointments. These include a £7 million expansion of the BBC headquarters in Belfast, a 250-unit housing scheme in Deptford and a 10,000m 2office building on Fenchurch Street in the City.

'If all the projects we have move forward we could conceivably hire 20 people, ' McAslan confirmed.

This latest growth follows a doubling in the practice's workforce to 45 in the past 12 months. Staff have been sharing desks in an office which was only designed for 20 people and the practice is now looking at taking over the lower floors of a nearby high-rise.

'It can be very hard to recruit, ' said McAslan.'There's a lot of work and people are taking bigger salaries from bigger practices than ours.'
