Masonry codes revised

  • Comment

In autumn 1999 the BSI published drafts for public comment of revised versions of BS 5628: Part 3 Code of practice for the use of masonry: Materials and components, design and workmanship and BS 8000: Part 3 Workmanship on building sites: Code of practice for masonry.

Work on the preparation of parallel European standards necessarily has delayed maintenance of these codes, but now BSI working groups have resumed work on them with the intention that revised versions will be ready for publication by the end of this year.

Although the new versions are not likely to be regarded as involving radical changes, it is important that they do reflect up-to-date experience and current development.
