Manufacturers lose faith in e-commerce

A report by the Construction Products Association shows growing caution about the speed of adoption of e-commerce.Whereas a year ago the association's members believed that e-commerce would account for 50 per cent of all transactions by 2005, they have now downsized their prediction to just 22 per cent by the same date.

More than half of the respondents identified increasing problems of incompatibility in both systems and standards as a hindrance.
