The inaugural conference at Foster and Partners' £22 million Congress Centre in Valencia this week was, fittingly enough, about architecture, featuring eminent speakers such as Dominique Perrault, the ar's Peter Davey, Lucien Kroll, and Sir Norman. But although the conference centre has been eagerly booked up long into the future - including the first time ever that the World Shakespeare Congress has pencilled in a trip away from the uk, in 2001 - some events are less inspiring. In 2000, the building will play host to the Seventh World Congress of Rabbit-Raising.
