PRODUCTS IN PRACTICE - TRANSPORT AND INDUSTRIAL

Stepping out During a six week period, a Macemain + Amstad Paragon walkway has helped transform the old terminus at Reading station into a new transport interchange. Using standard components, the 105m walkway opens out into a 4m-wide taxi rank, stepped to accommodate the fall in ground level over its length. Full-height fixed glazing is set onto a stainless steel foot bar 100mm above the ground, with only the main column legs fixed to the ground at 4,500mm centres.
