Lux-urious lighting

  • Comment

An astonishing 16 million colour options for lighting Mayfair's fashionable Paragon Lounge are possible following the installation of Luxeon LEDs by Lumileds. The brief for the £20,000 lighting project by Solar was to create a flexible and energy-efficient lighting solution incorporating striking colour effects. Lumileds Luxeon, a joint venture between Agilent Technologies and Philips Lighting, supplied 450 high-brightness, low-energy LEDs including 150 RGB downlight fittings with 25 degree collimating optics. A DMX controller operates the system and allows lighting to be themed through the day and night. The whole lighting system consumes only 1,944W at full power and provides significant cost savings.
