The Derek Lovejoy Partnership has been invited to convert a former convent into a luxury 20-room hotel. The 17th century building on Italy's Amalfi coast ceased to be a Christian refuge a century ago. The cliff-top building, a national monument and UNESCO world heritage site, has been bought by an American individual who is prepared to spend 'quite substantial' sums on the redevelopment. Building work is expected to commence next spring. The new resort is to be known as the Sanctuary Santa Rosa.
