Loudspeakers answer gull distress call

  • Comment
PRODUCT IN PRACTICE ARTS AND PUBLIC BUILDINGS SCARECROW

Called in to stop seagulls nesting and fouling the annexe of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution headquarters in Poole, Scarecrow Bio-Acoustic Systems specified its Marina 1230 digital bird-dispersal system. This randomly broadcasts distress calls to the birds, making the area hostile to the gulls, while being unnoticed by humans. The Marina system costs a fraction of the price of netting the building and has virtually no maintenance implications.
