London Spade 2000 award

  • Comment

Architect Marcus Beale is the proud recipient of the London Spade 2000 award, made by the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association, for his Christ Church Gardens project in Southwark.

'The garden is tough where it needs to be tough and soft where it needs to be soft, ' we are told.

Tough on landscape, tough on the causes of landscape. At the official opening, a brass quintet played a fanfare composed for the occasion by Beale himself.

Getting someone else to blow you own trumpet is talent indeed.
