The Star City development at Birmingham hosts the largest multiplex cinema in Europe.

The new 37-screen cinema was constructed by Richardsons and designed by Geoffrey Reid Associates. The major elevations feature facing masonry from Lignacite with a mix of texture and colour. Banding courses have been used to reduce the scale of the building, and the mix of colours helps give a softer impression. Coursing bands of weathered silver grey sit between layers of split amber and split sandstone.
