Levitt Bernstein has won planning permission for 31 flats for key workers on Du Cane Road in Acton, west London
The scheme for Ducane Housing Association is located on a narrow site between a Central tube line and Du Cane Road which previously housed a petrol station.
Irene Craik, director at Levitt Bernstein said: ‘Ducane are particularly focussed on achieving a high quality of design and finish with this scheme and have had a hands-on role in the design process.
‘We are delighted to have delivered a successful planning consent for them.’
The practice aimed for ‘100 per cent dual aspect apartments, generous space standards and private outdoor space’.
The building is designed to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 accreditation. Sustainable features include: Energy reduction with high levels of insulation and good levels of airtightness, use of photovoltaics, use of brown roofs to encourage bio-diversity and reduce rainwater runoff and water butts to reduce external water use.

Tenants increasingly expect a good layout and good quality internal and external finishes and we think this pays dividends in terms of underlying customer satisfaction.’
