A recent visit to the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, suggests it may be best not to follow Spain on health and safety.

Repairing a historic chipped tiled roof with a sheer and monumental drop on the north face, the tiler was held from a rope round his midriff by a second helper who straddled the ridge, rope also round his midriff keeping it taut (see above). Doubtless recapturing the reality of the past in its careful conversation! I don't know if they survived.
