On a completely separate note I just wanted to say that I do actually avidly read the AJ's lega l column - which seems to defy belief. It appears to be written by a lawyer (a barrister, in fact), with a sense of humour. Is there some mistake?
To be honest, the column actually increased my interest in this most benign of subjects to the extent that I actually enlisted for a law course - possibly qualifying me for the title of the 'occasional boffin' that Kim Franklin once fondly spoke of.
I'm sure the irony of someone actually commencing a law course as a result of her column will not be lost on Franklin.
Anyway, I'm now facing the most awkward of morale dilemmas, having almost completed the two-year course I set myself, the law school is suggesting I should do a third year! This is beyond my original budget, let alone tender, leaving me with the most delicate of decisions.
