Leeds Met appoints new head of architecture

Teresa Stoppani has been appointed the new Head of Architecture at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Stoppani will join the School of Art, Architecture and Design on 1 February from the University of Brighton.

From 2001 to 2011 she directed the MA in Architecture programme and co-ordinated the architecture theory courses at the School of Architecture and Construction of the University of Greenwich.

She has also taught architectural design and theory at the University of Venice (IUAV) and at the Architectural Association in London.

Stoppani has collaborated as design consultant with architectural practices in New York, Venice, London and Munich.

She studied architecture at the Institute of Architecture of the University of Venice and received a PhD in Architectural and Urban Design from the University of Florence.

Professor Mohammad Dastbaz, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Environment and Technology at Leeds Met, said: ‘I am delighted that Dr Stoppani is joining us. She brings with her an impressive range of expertise and experience and I am sure will be able to make a major contribution to the development of Architecture here at Leeds Met.’
