Lay lady lay

I am baffled by press reports suggesting a lack of lay assessors for the Stirling Prize.

Two out of five jurors are not architects: artist Tracey Emin and former AJ contributor Amanda Baillieu. What is all the fuss about? Add in Amanda Levete, and you have an impeccable 60 per cent gender balance. I imagine the girls will be coordinating on dress styles for the big night on 4 November, at the awards ceremony in Richard MacCormac's new wing at the Science Museum. Meanwhile, tension mounts over the choice of winner, and from whence the bookies are deriving their information. Bet it takes at least three rounds of (secret) voting to find a majority winner.
