The AJ can reveal that KPF is working on a new 30-storey skyscraper close to Richard Rogers’ Lloyds of London building on Lime Street in the City of London.
The project is one of three major schemes the global giant is currently working on in central London.
Ranked 19th in the AJ100 rankings of the UK’s biggest practices last year, KPF has a history of building towers in central London including the Heron Tower at 110 Bishopsgate (AJ 14.07.11) which completed last year. The practice is also behind the partially-built, 288m-tall Pinnacle tower – known as the Helter Skelter – which recently stalled after construction workers downed tools in January (AJ 23.01.12).
Meanwhile, it is understood KPF was interviewed last Friday (9 March) alongside Foster + Partners and SOM to design Goldman Sachs’ £1 billion new European headquarters in London.
KPF has already designed the bank’s existing offices within the former Daily Express and Telegraph buildings on Fleet Street.
