KEYING SYSTEMS

  • Comment

Union has a strong tradition of manufacturing cylinders for security keying systems. During the past 100 years the company has sold more than 300,000 of these systems worldwide.

A recent partnership between Union and a Swiss-based Assa Abloy company, Keso, has resulted in the launch of a top-ofthe-range, factory-produced, patentprotected system.

Every multi-pinned key is unique. 'The same key has not been and will never be repeated across the globe, ' says Dumsday.

'No one will have the same key.'

The Keso system is made under secure conditions, with all key information and master key records kept in a safe area.

It is a popular product with clients such as the Ministry of Defence, mental health trusts and the rail sector, but is also increasingly specified for use in commercial office suites.

Union also makes a mass-market keying system called D-TEC, which is the only UK mass-manufactured patented keying system. This product is built on site, so it can be delivered quickly and very cost effectively.

The company has also set up an innovative scheme for master locksmiths.

Following consultation with the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA), Union has set up a regionally based team of 25 locksmiths. Known as Union Service Centres, all are members of the MLA and offer agreed levels of service and the ability to work with the specification market. They are exclusive dealers for D-TEC and offer 72-hour fast-track delivery.

In return for adhering to standards and holding guaranteed levels of stock they receive considerable support and assistance from Union.
