Just the jot

For those that still prefer the spontaneity of a notepad to lugging their laptop around, Unimatic Engineers has come up with a new toy that is convenient for site visits and meetings.

The DigiMemo A501 (above) is an electronic clipboard that lets users handwrite notes and diagrams onto a standard A5 notepad and store them digitally on a PC. The 'pen' both produces normal ink and functions as a digital note tracker. To download pages, the DigiMemo is simply connected to a PC via the USB port and the pages are saved as a book. Virtually identical to an A4 clipboard, it weighs only 0.5kg and can store about 1,000 pages of notes as standard, or more with a plug-in Flash memory card.
