Architect: John Outram Associates

John Outram has transformed the former Addenbrooke's Hospital;the main facade has been given a new cornice supported by projecting precast consoles made of red precast 'logs'carrying blue precast 'saddles'.A series of giant encased hollow brick columns have black precast capitals;

an entablature of precast logs and saddles rest on the capitals to support the roof.

They are formed of 'Blitzcrete'- of crushed brick aggregate which is then polished;or 'Doodlecrete'- solid blue precast inlaid with undercut white spirals.The moulding technology for these unique shapes was developed at Techrete's Howth plant.
