Journey to the source of the references

Gillian Darley's generous and enthusiastic review of my Gentlemen & Players (AJ 12.4.01) requires one important correction. Far from letting me down by failing to provide sources, as Darley claims, my publishers, Sutton, allowed me to include full, even elaborate, primary and secondary printed sources and articles for every chapter of the book.

She will find more than 300 of them, if she looks again, between pages 200 and 209.
