John McAslan and Partners has beaten Clash Associates and Whitby Bird & Partners in the competition to design a new pedestrian bridge from the University of Glasgow to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Called the Kelvin Link, the £800,000 bridge should open during 2001 when the University celebrates its 550th anniversary. The architect was awarded a £15,000 prize. See page 6.
