John McAslan and Partners has beaten Stanton Williams, van Heyningen and Haward, Bennetts Associates and bdp to masterplan, design and implement a remodelling of the King Charles Building at the former Royal Naval College at Greenwich for the Trinity College of Music. The college, currently occupying three buildings in Central London, will be consolidating into the site in September 2001. The 7500m2 four-floored cloistered building is Grade I-listed, a Scheduled Ancient Monument and was built over a 100- year period involving Wren, Hawksmoor and Vanburgh.
