It's not just water under the Millennium Bridge

With reference to your news report 'Shrimps muddy the finances of Foster's river crossing' (AJ 11.5.00).

The bridge will open to the public on 10 June this year - a date that has been fixed since the commencement of the construction contract. The Environment Agency did not 'step in' last year. We conducted our own very specialised and thorough research into the impact of the works - including a fully hydraulic model test. We established a series of protective works with our own ecologist team at Arup. The bridge contains no wood as stated by your reporter.
