It's a vicious cycle, driving one to arrogance

In his editorial (aj 22.7.99), Paul Finch asks how long pedestrians will be prepared to put up with arrogant menaces who are turning cycle lanes into an urban hazard. The answer is, probably as long as cyclists have put up with such arrogant and ignorant car drivers who have turned riding on the road into such a game of life and death.

Of course, one assumes that Paul Finch, along with his fellow pedestrians, has never driven a car on the public highways and is therefore completely blameless for such a sorry state of affairs. In any case, what are pedestrians doing in cycle lanes? Sorry, that was arrogant.
