It was first-hand examples I wanted

Contrary to your heading for my letter in last week's issue (aj 11.2.99), I know how cedar weathers, but most clients of architects here in the uk do not come and ask to see, first-hand, examples of cedar used externally to enable them to come to a final decision whether to use it or not. Being a natural process, untreated cedar weathers at different rates in different locations, with the true 'silver' grey being most pronounced in a coastal environment. Age is also a significant factor - hence the request for information on older projects.
