Lanceolata (left) is a stackable chair with a tubular steel frame painted aluminium grey, and a polypropylene seating shell available in ivory, yellow or green. King Tubby (far left) has a painted tubular steel structure dressed with natural wicker. Both chairs, designed by Platt & Young, were exhibited at '100% Design' and are available from Viaduct, tel: 0171 278 8456.
Two new chair ranges from Ryan: upholstered Molly (far right) is based on modular construction. Back, seat and arms are fixed to a tubular steel underframe - as opposed to the more normal method of adding legs to an upholstered shell - making it possible to vary the design theme indefinitely.
Ella (right) is a new range of chairs and beam seating, with fully upholstered one-piece seat and back.
It is available in a high and low-back version, two widths and two seat heights. A multiple beam seat is also available and all versions carry the option of fully upholstered arms.
