Architect and property entrepreneur Thomas Brent, among the first to make Docklands fashionable by developing a small residential project at Limehouse Basin, has been placing prominent - but tasteful - advertisements in, among other places, the Spectator. His private property brokerage, Thos BrentKarpel (sic), carries the compelling headline 'intrigued by property', and offers 'expertise, creative thinking (embroidered pink satin), and the Cubist Aria Bach cape (in sand-coloured wool).

'These outfits are not based on the seventeenth-century paintings which hang in the North Galleries, ' says the helpful press release.
