I enjoyed your news feature last week on the growing interest in light transport systems, but was sorry to read about the less than committed attitude this government seems to have to this whole subject, despite the often-stated views of the deputy prime minister.
We seem to have a big problems in this country in coming to terms with the fact that getting rid of trams was a big mistake.
Perhaps a reluctance to acknowledge the sins of the recent past lies behind our slowness in restoring what, at the time, we all thought was a redundant system.
However, at least we at last seem to be making some progress.
