Glasgow-based Inkdesign Architecture has secured planning for this 1,800m² project to extend a fund manager’s offices in East Kilbride
The scheme for Clyde Blowers Capital aims to double the footprint of the investment company’s current headquarters.
Due to start on site in Spring 2014, the project has been designed to provide a flexible floorplate within a continuous glass envelope and also includes refurbishment of the existing building.
Inkdesign Architecture completed a £120,000 refurbishment for the same company this week. Located next to Clyde Blowers Capital’s East Kilbride headquarters, the scheme was designed as a modular, reusable kit of parts which will be relocated within the proposed extension at a later date.
Inkdesign co-founder Maurice Hickey said he hoped the extension project would lead to the practice’s expansion.
He said: ‘Inkdesign Architecture is considering expanding our own office from the south side of Glasgow into the Merchant City area which would enable us to take on more staff.
‘We have built up a solid reputation among commercial and private clients for delivering a competitively priced professional design service that interprets our clients’ aspirations and provides them with a design that they want rather than forcing our own design ideas on them.’
He added: ‘In the current financial climate, budget is increasingly important. We ensure that our costs are transparent, providing clients with structured fees where all the work is itemised so that the client knows exactly what they can expect to get for their money.’
