In Pictures: Architect's Eye photography contest winners

The competition, which was open to all qualified architects in the UK was split into two categories: Architecture and Place and Architecture and People

John Barr, an independent architect practising in Glasgow won the Architecture and Place category with his image ‘Church of the Light’. The photograph featured Tadao Ando’s church in Ibaraki.

The Architecture and People category was won by Philippe Brysse, an Associate at Fosters and Partners whose photo was of a reservoir in North London.

Runners up were Antonia Infanger from Antonia Infanger Architecture + Interiors, and Paul Qui-En Lim, a Part 2 Architectural Assistant at Stride Treglown Limited.

  • That is such a distinctly average photo of the church of light!? I'm guessing the best of a poor bunch. Lazy photographer (Im not sure what the partial object at the front of the image is doing, except from distracting) and a lazy jury - how they haven't seen clones of this photo 1000s of times?!

  • This is not my photograph; it has been cropped by the AJ without reference to me and has lost all meaning in the process. So, lazy editing perhaps and certainly lazy checking of facts by 'Anonymous'. But, when you're shy about revealing your identity, maybe accuracy isn't important.
