In memoriam

Just what will be commissioned to mark the life of the Queen Mother?

The London Evening Standard publishes a suggestion by its architecture correspondent, Rowan Moore, that it could be a statue in the East End. Then, intriguingly, he mentions that a memorial to Diana, in the form of a large water feature in Hyde Park, is currently grinding through Whitehall. Has anyone seen this proposal? The last I heard, Future Systems and Katherine Gustafson were battling it out as to who should be the designer, but there has been no public confirmation. Perhaps the two memorials could be designed in tandem.
