David Hodges, a moving force in the original design for Brighton Marina and colleague of Welwyn Garden City designer Louis de Soissons, has died aged 83.

Hodges took over the £9 million marina project in the 1970s aiming to turn it into a £70 million off-shore showpiece. He worked with Eva Jiricna on the project which hit cash problems and had to be abandoned in its original form.
