Prime minister Tony Blair and Mike Shears, deputy chairman of Ove Arup Partnership, shared the ambassador's platform in Japan last week to promote the British construction industry for Japanese projects. They met the Japanese minister for international trade and industry, Mr Mitsuo Horiuchi, and discussed projects including the proposed Chubu International airport to be built in the sea near Nagoya for Expo 2005.
