Medina High School on the Isle of Wight is leading the way on photovoltaic electricity generation. Alwitra's Evalon-Solar singleply membrane roof is now 'live', and is capable of producing 13.5kWp to power the school, saving it thousands of pounds in fuel bills. The PV cells consist of layers of amorphous silicone vapour on a stainlesssteel substrate and pick-up grid, integrated into manufacture.
