Hunt attacks DETR over Greenwich Village report

  • Comment

HTA director Bernard Hunt has blamed a 'culture of secrecy' in Government over the handling of its report into the Greenwich Millennium Village saga.

Hunt was angry not to receive the Gardiner & Theobald report, sent to deputy PM John Prescott and due for publication shortly. It is said to clear the developers Taywood Homes and Countryside Properties of veering away from the original intention of the scheme to integrate sustainable private and social homes. The report has been leaked to national and business press, but the DETR refused to give any details to the AJ. 'In any decent democratic system' said Hunt, 'we would be given an opportunity to see the report for which we submitted up to 100 pages.'
