Arts Minister Alan Howarth has listed Grade II* Carmel College's Julius Gottlieb gallery and boathouse near Oxford by Sir Basil Spence and his son. Carmel College's synagogue and amphitheatre, by Thomas Hancock, was listed Grade II, as was 8A Fitzroy Park in Highgate by Higgins Ney & Partners, St Aldate's Church in Gloucester by ewh Gifford, St Mark's Church in Sheffield by George G Pace, and St Theresa of the Child of Jesus rc in Lancashire by Francis Xavier Velarde. The same listing went to a 15-tonne fountain by Franta Belsky in the courtyard of London's Shell Centre. The dcms also wants views on listing the 1960s Smithfield Poultry market in London, by T P Bennett and Son, as Grade II.
