We all know that one should be prepared to make certain sacrifices for the privilege of living in a magnificent house. But, reports the Los Angeles Times , 70-year-old Catherine Gallagher is putting up with more than is reasonable as the proud new owner of 'a New Age landmark'. Gallagher, who suffers back problems and the after-effects of a mild stroke, is not even strong enough to open the front door of the 280m 2allglass pyramid in Sierra Madre that she bought for $450,000, let alone negotiate its five levels. This means the only residents are her three Abyssinian cats, who benefit from the building's alignment with the Great Pyramid of Cheops, while suffering summer's chronic overheating. Gallagher, meanwhile, lives in the adjacent garage.
