An open competition to design a new country house in Lancashire has been launched. The budget for the house is £1000/m 2with £250,000 earmarked for landscaping. The brief says that the house can be built using tried and tested building methods and that it must be energy efficient and sustainable. Any registered architect or practice can enter for a £35 fee. Damond Lock Grabowski has submitted these £100 million plans (above) for a leisure and residential scheme in Gateshead for detailed planning permission.The project forms part of the Gateshead Quays redevelopment and includes a hotel, nightclubs, restaurants, bars and 220 loftstyle apartments. The developer is Taylor Woodrow Property.
