[First look + plans + project data] Halsall Lloyd Partnership has taken the wraps off its £8 million ‘EdEn’ department building for Liverpool Hope University

Opened to students late last year, the 3425m² scheme features ‘the most sustainable energy-saving features of any existing campus building’ according to the practice.

Designed as an ‘extended hours’ learning centre and business conferencing facility, the university campus building includes a naturally-lit interior ‘seminar street’ aimed at boosting the ‘exchange of ideas’.

A statement from Halsall Lloyd Partnership explained: ‘We brought old buildings into new use, generated opportunity for business and humanized education space whilst developing student wellbeing.

‘HLP is delighted to have provided traditional architecture, landscape and lighting design services for this highly successful and innovative campus building.’
