Heritage goodbye

The announcement that English Heritage chief executive Pam Alexander was to quit her job is still sending shock waves through the industry.

Adverts for her replacement have been issued and head-hunters are at work. Alexander held her leaving party this week, without revealing whether the flurry of contradictory EH activity over tall buildings in general, and the Heron Tower in particular, was the real reason for her abrupt departure.
