The Hellman Files 96: A trawl through Hellman’s archives, in which we uncover gems as relevant now as they were then

In the week we learned of the death of Margaret Thatcher, part of her legacy was an attack on the welfare state and the promotion of privatisation of public services, using the recession as pretext. This cartoon is from the AJ for 22.09.82, the year Ridley Scott’s iconic film Blade Runner came out. Now as the coalition government  return to  the policy with added vigour,  Tebbit, Thatcher and Fowler stand in for IDS, Cameron and Osborne.
