Building for health and disability is big business in the UK and it is poised to get even bigger. According to Building for Health 2003, a collaborative report from the Building Centre and Emap Glenigan, capital funding for health-related work doubled between 2000-01 and 2003-04. The (government's) Comprehensive Spending Review earmarks £10.56 billion for health-related capital work for the NHS, between 2003 and 2006. Future activity prospects for health-related construction work is good, the report states, 'as the government commitment to spending on this sectors is unlikely to waver leading up to the next election'. Building for Health lists all health-related projects worth £5 million or more that are now in the planning pipeline.
