As of today Lorenzo Apicella, head of Apicella Associates, is the new principal of Pentagram, the international design company. Apicella and his existing team of eight will continue to offer architecture, interiors and exhibition design from Pentagram's London office.
Since it was established in 1989, Apicella Associates' work has ranged from master-planning proposals for Freidrichstrasse in Berlin to portable architecture, large-scale exhibitions and interiors. Recent projects include a shop for La Perla collections and an r&d building in central London for Adshel.
Apicella's appointment is in keeping with Pentagram's strategy of building a global consultancy of leaders in design. Speaking on behalf of Pentagram's London partners, John Rushworth said: 'Lorenzo will be a great complemnent to the spread of design disciplines offers from this office. We all benefit from working in a multi-disciplinary environment. So do our clients. It is one of the tenets on which Pentagram was founded.'
