The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London, is fire-protected thanks to fire-and-steel glazing specialist FendorHansen. Swingline, Clearline and Fineline glazing systems were used to meet the performance, functional and aesthetic criteria of the design. Within the light well, six fire-rated oriel windows were created using Clearline glazing with minimal framing. Fineline fireresistant glazing was used in the staircase area. Another impressive feature is a 90-minute fire-insulated glass door, designed and installed by FendorHansen. Swingline doors with 6mm Pyrolithic glass were used throughout , allowing safe access to all fire escape routes.
