FendorHansen led the specialist subcontractors on the radical refurbishment of the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester by architect Austin-Smith: Lord. FendorHansen undertook extensive work in the early concept stages. The package totalled £0.75 million and comprised FendorHansen Swingline external steel glazing, with large butt-jointed, toughened double-glazed units to enclose 10 of the original railway storage vaults. The main warehouse buildings have FendorHansen Fineline curtain walling and roof glazing.
