Grimshaw's London Bridge station revamp unveiled

  • Comment

Designs for the redevelopment of London Bridge railway station have been published by Network Rail

The project is being designed by Grimshaw with support from interior specialists and retail architects Chapman Taylor, as part of a team led by engineering consultancy WSP.

Plans include a new concourse and two new entrances on Tooley Street and St Thomas Street. The design aims to fill the concourse with natural light from canopies above the station’s platforms.

Grimshaw was appointed to the project in January this year, replacing TP Bennett which had worked on the site for more than a decade.

Public consultation on the designs will begin in May. The five year construction process is expected to start in 2013.
