Rolls-Royce has revealed that Nicholas Grimshaw & Partners is to build its new £60 million manufacturing plant and head office.

The plant will make a new luxury saloon car from 2003, the date when the marque's new owner, BMW, takes over full business and production responsibilities. The scheme will sit on a 7ha site at Goodwood, West Sussex and will be partly sunk below ground. The main roof will be covered in grass to help the building blend in with the countryside. If planning is granted, the scheme is likely to start on site in spring next year.
