Grand Hyatt Shanghai, the highest hotel in the world, has just opened. The 555 rooms are on the 53rd to 87th floors of som's 414m, 88-storey Jin Mao Tower, a 'tapering modern interpretation of the pagoda form' which sways 75cm in the wind. The hotel boasts the longest-ever laundry chute, running the height of the block, nine restaurants, a fitness centre and a sky lounge with 360degrees views. The rest of the space consists of 278,000m2 of offices. The client was China Shanghai Foreign Trade Centre Co.
